IPM's subsidiary, Long Beach Prescription Pharmacy (LBPP), comprised of retail and mail order pharmacies, was established in late 1996. IPM was incorporated in 2002.

A prescriber is defined as anyone that holds a current DEA license in a particular state. This can include physicians, physician assistants (PA), certain registered nurses and veterinarians.
